On October 27, 2025, Dave Macfadyen was found guilty under 2(1) and 2.1(b) of the Animal Protection Act (APA) and received a 10 year prohibition on owning equines and a $800 fine.
When officers responded to complaints they found a down mare with a foal trying to nurse. The mare was unable to get up and had received no care from the owner. The mare was euthanized by a veterinarian on the property and the foal was transported to a veterinary clinic to receive care.
