As part of the Alberta SPCA’s mission to protect, promote and enhance the wellbeing of animals, our organization invests in community and caregiver resources and programs to lead animal welfare in Alberta.
Community Investment
Investing in our community protects animals and supports their guardians and caregivers. The Alberta SPCA works to enhance animal welfare and protect animals through a One Health approach.
Modernizing Animal Welfare Bylaws
One effective way to support both animal welfare and community well-being is through strong legislation, including thoughtful and compassionate municipal animal bylaws. Effective bylaws give communities the tools to protect people and animals alike.

Animal Welfare Symposium
Launched in 2025, the Animal Welfare Symposium brings together community leaders from a diverse range of backgrounds to discuss complex issues that impact animal welfare in Alberta.

Emergency Livestock Trailer Locations
The Alberta SPCA offers the following list of municipalities with emergency livestock handling trailers as a community service, and we acknowledge some communities may choose to no longer offer this service without our knowledge. This information is current as of November 2025.
