    Donate Supplies

    We investigate complaints of animals in distress across Alberta and frequently remove animals from distress. Donating supplies allows us to have items on hand to meet the needs of animals in our care.

    Donate Your Empties

    You can donate your bottles through Skip The Depot! This is a handy door-to-door bottle collection service that will pick up your bottles right from your home or business, donate the proceeds to the Alberta SPCA, and provide tax receipts!

    Here’s how to sign up:

    Veterinary Clinic Pet Memorial Program

    Honour the relationship between you, your clients and the pets they loved, and help animals in need across Alberta through the Alberta SPCA’s Pet Memorial Program for Veterinary Clinics.

    Donate a Car

    The Alberta SPCA has partnered with Donate a Car Canada to accept your vehicle donation! You will be provided free towing, or you can drop off your vehicle to maximize your donation. When you donate your car, truck, RV, boat, or motorcycle to the Alberta SPCA through Donate A Car Canada, it will either be recycled or re-sold (depending on its condition, age and location). Donate a Car Canada will look after all the details to make it easy for the Alberta SPCA to benefit. You will receive a tax receipt after your vehicle donation has been processed.

    As a member, you’ll join hundreds of fellow Albertans who care about animal welfare and want to see all animals in the province treated humanely.

    Our members are very special to us. With their support, we continue to build and strengthen the enforcement and education programs that help us to protect Alberta’s animals from abuse, neglect and distress.

    Abused or neglected animal

    Under the Animal Protection Act, peace officers have authority to investigate concerns of animal abuse or neglect if there is reason to believe that an animal is:

    (a) deprived of adequate shelter, ventilation, space, food, water or veterinary care or reasonable protection from injurious heat or cold,
    (b) injured, sick, in pain or suffering, or
    (c) abused or subjected to undue hardship, privation or neglect.

    What you need when you call:
    Address, details (must be firsthand), date and time, description of owner and animals

    What next

    If your concern is regarding intentional cruelty to
    an animal, contact your local police or RCMP. If the
    animal is in immediate danger, call 911.

    If not, start again.

    Abandoned animal

    Stray animals and abandoned animals are different.
    An abandoned animal has been intentionally left behind by their owner or caretaker, without proper care or intention to return.

    A stray animal may or may not have an owner or caretaker, and is wandering at large (off the owner or caretaker’s property).
